After 34 years in the private practice of obstetrics and gynecology in Sacramento, I retired from active practice in November of 2005.
I was the founder and medical director of Mercy Perinatal Recovery Network. (an outpatient program for addicted pregnant women.) For the past 20 years I have been actively involved in the treatment of patients suffering from alcohol and chemical dependency, doing individual, group and family therapy.
I have been a consultant to the National Basketball Association and the NBA Players Association Players Assistance Program, doing team education and leading groups at the Rookie Transition Program.
I have served the California Medical Board’s Physician’s Diversion Program as a member of the Diversion Evaluation Committee from 1994 until 2002. I was reappointed to the committee in 2005. In addition, I was appointed by State Senator John Burton to the California Bar Oversight Committee for the Lawyers Assistance Program.
Recently, I have been associated with the Bi Valley Medical Clinic providing treatment to addicts, with primarily opiate addiction and mental health disorders.
